IMO is a community based organisation whose aim is to provide a single platform for youth with the wider a community to empower themselves by getting better health, education, understand community safety, employment, cohesion and a clean environment these programs are available in the Blackburn with Darwen area and some programs are regional wide.
IMO was formed in 2006 as a community group to address disaffection and exclusion of Muslim youths. The need to provide a programme of bringing communities together through sports and community based activities was at the forefront of our objectives. IMO today successfully tackles the misconceptions and a force of good by highlighting the positive contribution the Muslim Community make to the wider community. It has empowered individuals and communities to engage with service provisions, statutory and voluntary in areas of all angles of life.

We are pleased to announce our new project for 2014 called ‘Steer Clear’. This project has been funded by Children in Need. This is a neighbourhood based health awareness and early intervention programme to alert local young people about the dangers of alcohol, smoking and drugs misuse and to provide positive, diversionary activities.
To carry out this project we want to recruit 2 project officers to do some outreach intervention work.
